“(Come on) If you a fly gal get your nails done. Get a pedicure, get your hair did…” ~ Missy Elliott

“First, I would just like to ask.. How on earth did anyone plan a wedding before Pinterest was in existence?! Pinterest is my go to for everything! …Flowers, tuxes, decorations, and of course, a hairstyle for the big day!
So I know I want to wear my hair up.. I have heard from almost everyone.. “Oh my god, you need to wear your hair down”… But I am getting married outside in the end of June and I just have too much hair for all of that 🙂 Plus, I have to show off my sexy back 😉
I have had this picture in mind for quite a while.. So I knew how I wanted the front of my hair to look, but was clueless for the back 🙂 I need a loose up-do.. Because when my hair is too tight to my head, I just look.. Weird.. Really weird 🙂

So for the pictures of the back of the hair.. I actually was scrolling the Cosmo and saw the pins in an article about prom.. Prom hair, wedding hair.. Same thing right 🙂 I really like the braid in each of them. And I think they could work nicely with the loose in front look. Plus I really like braids.

I guess we will check back in after my hair trial!! :)”

It’s officially spring which means we are a season closer to Rachel’s wedding day!!!! Today we get a little artsy craftsy!! 😉

“I don’t think of myself as super crafty.. I would love to do crafts and Pinterest gives me some really good ideas, but I never follow through with them 🙂
But let me tell you this wedding stuff is pretty damn expensive! So I need a little DIY in my wedding life 🙂
So I had a few inspirations for table runners, but they were way too much money for me.. Who has the money to be spending $15-20 PER TABLE??!!!

Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 8.13.58 PM Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 8.16.22 PM

Lucky for me.. Amy {My lovely co-worker/cousin/bridesmaid} and I were walking into Walmart and I didn’t even notice a cart full of burlap that was on super duper sale.. Now I am definitely more of a Target girl than a Walmart girl, but I have to give it to them on this one.. They were on sale for $.25 to $.50 each! So Amy and I raided the cart of all of the white, yellow and blue burlap. This provided me with all of the pretty inner layer of burlap like my inspirations had. That just left me with having to buy the actual burlap runner.. So again DIY, and me just being super cheap in general :), I bought large rolls of burlap from Walmart that Amy, Rebekah {My little sister} and I painstakingly separated in four runners each.. I had watched a video on how to do this on Pinterest and it was most definitely harder than it looked.. What a surprise 🙂

And let me tell you.. I love the final results!! I am so happy with how they came out! I guess not every Pinterest craft is a fail :)”

And the saga continues….lol…just kidding…onto this weeks #weddingwednesdays post!

Week 25!

“Tuxes were something that I almost forgot about to be honest 🙂 My Pinterest board has very little with anything concerning Arthur on the wedding day.. It’s all about me.. Duh! 🙂
I wanted grey tuxes for Art and the Groomsmen for sure.. I personally like grey suits better than black for a few reasons.. 1) I am having a summer wedding and I think black is too dark for the season 2) The guys stand in the sun during the ceremony and 3) Sometimes I think black tuxes can look a little waiter-ish 🙂 So I was set on grey for Art and the guys.. Until I saw my inspiration picture on Pinterest. I love that the groom is in navy and the rest of the men are in grey. I thought it was so different than anything else I had seen, but it looks so good! The groom should stand out on the wedding day too right 🙂

So off to Men’s Wearhouse we went. Arthur and I were joined by some of his groomsmen as the men were fitted for their tuxes.. This is definitely not as fun of a process as the girls getting their dresses 🙂 But one more item to check off my To-Do List!

“Confessions Of A Future Bride” | Post 23

It’s a new week!!! Time for today’s post!

“Over the years my thoughts on what I wanted my wedding cake to look like have drastically changed.. At one point I had wanted a full on blue and yellow cake to match my colors {Yes, I have had my colors picked for years 🙂 } I recently moved on to a naked cake.. For those who aren’t sure, a naked cake is a cake without icing on the outside.. But Arthur quickly vetoed the naked cake idea 🙂
So of course with the entire wedding, Pinterest was my best friend when searching for a cake. I stumbled upon a beautiful cake after typing the same exact thing into Pinterest for the 1,000th time. I love how it looks rustic/vintage..

Lucky for me, Lippincott Manor works with an awesome baker/bakery Randi at Eat This Bakery. Arthur and I went and did our cake tasting on Monday after work. There were so many great options it was hard to choose! But I just had to go with the cannoli filling.. I’m a sucker for cannoli anything! Arthur and I are always spilt on cake/ice cream/anything flavored.. I love chocolate and he loves vanilla.. So Randi gave us the perfect option of a layer of each!

I’m super excited to see how the cake will turn out.. I know Randi will do a phenomenal job 🙂
Now to search Etsy for a cake topper…”
