“Confessions Of A Future Bride” | Post 11

On to the next bridesmaids…

This week is an introduction to another bridesmaid… My cousin, my BFF growing up, my built in playmate.. Amy.

Amy and I grew up together {We are just three months apart}… We were a foursome growing up… Me and my brother- David and Amy and her brother- Paul. We were always together and always finding some way to get into trouble. We spent hours upon hours in Amy and Paul’s basement playing hide and go seek in the dark, laser-tag, and any other games we made up along the way. Any game we played, it was always us girls against the boys. With the boys being four years older than us, of course it was never a fair fight… But I think Amy would agree with me that the boys helped us to be the strong, athletic, tom-boys that we turned in to during our early tween years.

Amy and I had sleep over after sleep over… Sometimes going on for weeks on end over the summers. When we played house, I was the mom. When we played school, I was the teacher. I was always the bossy one, always the take charge one… But let someone else try to boss Amy around or be mean to Amy, and they would have to deal with me 🙂

Now, Amy and I work together. That means that we get to see each other EVERY DAY! We get to drink our morning coffee together and have our lunch together. We are a pair, a tag team… You don’t see one without the other. And after seeing each other for eight hours a day, we still chose to spend time together outside of work.

Amy, you were my first best friend… More like a sister than a cousin. We have been there for each other through thick and thin. You were there when Art and I got engaged and I can’t wait for you to stand beside me when I get married. Love you more than you can imagine!

Today we go on to the next bridesmaids!

“This week is dedicated to another bridesmaid, my little, baby sister, Rebekah, also known as Becky, Little Nerd, Ellen…

Becky is the youngest of the siblings. She had to grow up with two older sisters and one older brother.. Of course that means she had to put up with much more torturing than one person should ever have to 🙂 We {And when I say we, I mean mostly my two older siblings of course 🙂  } taught Becky so many things she should not have known as a child.. Mostly rap lyrics.. Any time someone said “Stop!” Becky would of course say “Shut em down, open up shop.” Too funny!!

I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that Becky is now an adult and not a little girl.. For many, many years, we would insist that Becky was still six years old. Just as I had shared a bedroom with Karen, I also at one point shared a room with Becky.. And that is how I still picture her, as a little girl, a my-size Barbie for me growing up.

I still to this day remember how excited I was when my mom told me she was pregnant {My mom says I asked for proof that she was actually pregnant. I don’t remember that.. but I wouldn’t put it past six year old me}. I hoped and wished that it was a girl so that I could share a room with her {My brother also hoped and wished it was a girl so he wouldn’t have to be the one to share his bedroom}, and there isn’t one second that I could imagine my life without my little, baby sister.

Becky, even though I may have bossed you around a bit {And possibly still do at times 🙂  }, I hope you know that I couldn’t possibly love you more than I do…”

“Confessions Of A Future Bride” | Post 9

Happy Hump Day!!! Time of another #weddingwednesdays post! You are going to love these next few posts as we get to know more about Rachel’s bridal party.

My Maid of Honor
“The next few weeks will be dedicated to my girls.. I will do a little introduction to each of my bridesmaids who I am so honored to have in my bridal party 🙂
First up, my Maid of Honor and big sister, Karen. How could I chose anyone but her..

Karen is the best big sister I could ever ask for. We shared a room for a good chunk of my life.. From the time I was eleven, Karen and I shared bedroom {And for a short time, shared a bed lol. We chose to.. Haha and wanted to share one for much longer.. We wanted to get a king bed to share instead of both having twin beds.. Mom wouldn’t let us though.. Thanks a lot Mom.. 🙂  }

Goodness we had so much fun sharing a room.. Booby trapping it, just in case a burglar came in to get us haha. Karen sleeping with a knife under her pillow.. Until Mom found out and made her put it back in the kitchen 🙂 Watching Cops and Crocodile Hunter all hours of the night..

Karen is always the one at any family party with the most inappropriate jokes {there are plenty of inappropriate jokes going around, but Karen has to take it to the next level 🙂  } Karen is always there to bring a party to the next level.

When the time came that Arthur finally proposed, I knew I had to have my big sister Karen standing right by my side.
Karen, I can’t imagine my life without you as my sister {And my wedding without you as my Maid of Honor} .. And how damn boring it would be 🙂
Karen, I love you so, so much!”
