“Something magical happens when we define and write down our goals. We somehow begin to live out our plans.”–Dave Ramsey

My sister in law got me this journal for Christmas and it brought a tear to my eyes. First off, I absolutely love this quote and secondly her message inside hit home. She said “…and know that you deserve it all…” which really meant a lot to me since I’ve struggled in the past with confidence and fear of failure. But I should have the attitude of –I am worthy of succeeding at something–that I am capable of doing anything (through Christ who strengthens me, of course).

So I am taking her advice along with the Dave Ramsey and “WRITING IT DOWN.” These are some of my goals for the next 5 years. Although I am afraid of falling short, this is sort of the first step in facing my fears.

  • I would like to have a baby
  • I’d love to shoot at least 3 weddings this year
  • Catch the perfect “I Do” kiss
  • Be an amazing Youth Group Leader
  • Continue to pray and intercede for my husband
  • Have my own booth and work at a wedding show
  • Have a professional website designer design a blog/website for me
  • Shoot a destination wedding
  • Be featured in wedding blogs/magazines
  • Shoot wonderful family/children sessions

That seems like a fairly good place to end! I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for me!

{Have you checked out the facelift this blog has had? This wasn’t the same layout from when I started. I now have “scrolling images” haha I think that’s what you call it on the HOME PAGE. The blog is still under a little construction but I like it so far}

She said Yes to the Dress!!!!

Yesterday I had the honor of going wedding dress shopping with one of my best friends. She will be getting married in June and she still hadn’t found a dress. She decided on going to Reginella’s Bridal Boutique in Montgomery, NY. I personally never shopped there when I was looking for a wedding dress, but now wish I would have. Rita, whom I assume was the owner, was very attentive to the brides wish list of the dress and brought out exact dresses that she was looking for. I obviously won’t post pictures of her dress but I do have to say, it’s gorgeous!

Thanks Reginella for a fun experience and thanks Bekah for the honor of joining you for an important occasion! I’m a bridesmaid at this wedding and still need to find my dress. I guess I have to get my butt in gear and start searching!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge // “Best Face of 2012”

This month’s photo contest theme is “Best Face of 2012”. Although, this little one is not smiling, I do think it brings another dimension to the picture. The intensity in his eyes does grab you! As I thought about the theme, I was overwhelmed with emotion as I thought about the past year. Many great things happened as well as not so many great things. One that stands out to me is the massacre that just happened in Connecticut. It was an intense time for many but I just can’t help but to think of the parents.

This picture reminds of the emotion behind that tragic time but also a sense of strength to get back up and push through.

Happy New Year!!!!

Fresh Start!

I hope all of you enjoyed the holidays! It was a bit busy for me even though I was on vacation from work. I had the opportunity of photographing another session. This time it was a Portrait Session. It was nice to shoot an older person since I had been shooting children recently. Her name was Tierra and she was quite the beaut!Collage1Done

I had a pretty laid back Christmas. One of the gifts that my husband gave to me was an old record player. I love vintage things!

It goes great with our records that are framed on the wall!

For New Years Eve, we celebrated by attending a beautiful wedding at my church. Although I wasn’t the photographer, I was able to snap a few photos that I’m sure she would appreciate.photo1Done
